The year 2001 saw Michael release Invincible, unfortunately due to some issues with Sony, it failed to take off as his previous recordings had. This same year, he managed to get the "What More Can I Give" benefit together. The proceeds going towards families of victims of the 2001 terrorist attacks. (For more on Michael's charitable endeavors, see here.) This same year also witnessed his last number 1, "You Rock My World" and the birth of his youngest son Prince II (Blanket). Sadly, it also witnessed his death in June of 2009. Below are a few pictures of Michael from this decade.

In 2009, Michael was getting ready to do his comeback concerts in England at the O2 arena, when he sadly passed away. In October of that year, Sony released the film This Is It, which featured some of Michael's concert rehearsals for the concerts. Below are some pictures from this film.
The musical awards continued as well. Below is a list of some of the awards that Michael received in this decade. It must be noted that Thriller is on its way to becoming the first record in history to be awarded a Triple Diamond award. Way to go, Michael! :)

Poem below written by me, (the webmaster)
Goodbye, For Now
My friends, please don't
cry for me
I've gone to a better place.
I enjoyed the time we spent together,
but now I sing for my Heavenly Father.
My friends, we shared the good times and bad times.
You leaned on me and I leaned on you.
You always gave me your love, and in return
I gave you mine.
My friends, even though I have gone away
In many ways I am still with you.
So, goodbye for now.
God bless you, until we meet again
signed, Michael
